This lovely large rustic stoneware storage jar original comes from Shanxi province in central China and date from the early to mid 20th century

the family’s women patched it with a small piece of scrap fabric using Sachiko stitching

to add a rustic atmosphere

Originating in the 1850s in China, this stunning basket is large in size and has hand woven patterns on the back. It would have originally been used to dry tea leaves. Nowadays however, it can be used to store domestic items whilst adding an oriental and rustic atmosphere.
