SOLD 1949 George Nakashima for Knoll N19 Straight Chair in Walnut, Freshly Refinished Lighting This is a classic BertoiaThis is an N19 Straight Chair, designed by George Nakashima for Knoll Associates in 1946. This is an early example, dating to 1949. The Straight Chair was Nakashimas modern, minimalist take on the Windsor chair. This piece has been freshly refinished. Nakashima intentionally chose low sheen finishes to amplify the natural grain patterns, so this set in its current state is not too far from how the designer intended for it to be. Each N19 chair
