These oars were awarded as presentation trophies for boat races in the army and navy in England. Mne Blackburn won this for being aboard a Cutter sailing vessel race along with his fellow marines. Made of sterling silver, this size is particularly rare and beautifully made. The Marine was a sailor on board H. M. S Sussex, and it was presented to him in 1931 Curated by Foundwell. Ships
